Are you one of the millions that have a Myspace account or any other personal website like that? Well you might want to reconsider what kind of information you put on there. Identity thieves are scouring the internet looking for you.
The main thing you need to do is keep your personal information safe and not published on places like Myspace. Preferably only have your first name on the website unless you absolutely have to have it on there. So if you have any personal information on your account currently, delete it as soon as possible.
Identity theft has happened with as little information then you think. Your name and address is an example. Thieves don't just need your social security number to commit identity theft. That's why this crime is such a problem anyone could be a victim of identity theft.
One solution that is probably the most secure is to have the settings so only your selected friends can view your profile. Unless you have some corrupt friends then don't! That will insure that nobody you don't know is surfing the internet looking for identity theft potentials.
So next time your on Myspace or any websites alike. Stop and think to yourself if your personal site is clean of any information that might jeopardize your identity.
